Greek Week Chico State

Greek Week has finally come to an end. I love the 90s Greekelodeon brought together Greek organizations in order to raise money for Habitat for Humanity and Boys and Girls Club. The week began with the Parade of Lights, which is a parade that goes through downtown Chico. Team Are You Afraid of the Dark won with their spooky float covered with zombies, lit up letters and a haunted house. The blood drive on Monday and Tuesday was a huge success. Alpha Gamma Delta had more than 80 people donate their blood and other chapters were not too far behind.

It was a very windy Friday afternoon this past week as the opening round of the fraternity softball playoffs kicked off. It was a great day for softball regardless of the weather, as three of the four games were decided by one run. The first game was between Sigma Pi and Alpha Sigma Phi. Sigma Pi jumped out early and led practically the entire game, but a late rally with the bases loaded by Alpha Sig won them the game in the final inning by a score of 10-8. The second game of the afternoon was between Sigma Nu and...

Pikes and some dates that attended the Fireman's Ball.

There was seemingly no better location for Pi Kappa Alpha Fireman’s Ball than the “Biggest Little City in the World.” Reno’s lights and casino atmosphere was a fresh vibe for the Pike’s and their dates. Getting out of Chico gave the formal a different feel than any other social or date dance the Lambda Psi chapter had been a part of previously in the semester. Most of the gentlemen stayed at the Silver Legacy Resort Casino, which is also connected to Circus Circus and the Eldorado. Check in began at 3:00pm on Saturday, May 7th. As the men began to filter in throughout the day,...

AGD Car Wash Chico State

Being a Greek at Chico State, surprisingly for some, is more than parties and socials.  It is about giving back to the local community and raising money for our different chapter’s philanthropies.  Alpha Gamma Delta held their fundraiser on Saturday, April 16 for their own philanthropy- The Alpha Gamma Delta Foundation. A foundation that provides grants to support members and other individuals living with diabetes.

Larry Bassow Fundraiser Chico State

The Greek Community at Chico State has made tremendous progress in the past five years, and much of that growth and development has been due to the constant hard work of Greek Life Advisor Larry Bassow. As an alumni of a Greek chapter at Chico, Larry has devoted his time and energy into truly helping students learn and take advantage of all that Greek Life has to offer them. That is why when Larry was diagnosed with Pancreatic Cancer this year, the entire Greek Community rallied to help him in any way they could.

Theta Chi Banner - 4 Greeks and Dragon Graphics

Every semester, the brothers of Theta Chi Fraternity devote a week of bonding with one another through competition called Red & White Week. The brothers are divided evenly into a Red Team (Team Freeman) and a White Team (Team Chase) named after Fredrick Norton Freeman and Arthur Samuel Chase, the founders of Theta Chi Fraternity. The teams could be distinguished by red and white tank tops made by 4 Greeks that the brothers sported all week long. Each day of the brotherhood, an event was held in which the two teams would compete against each other. On Monday the brothers...
