This past weekend Gamma Phi Beta had their 2011 retreat at South Lake Tahoe. The girls enjoyed a beautiful drive with a little rain toward the last few miles. Once the girls arrived at the hotel, they immediately starting bonding. They sat at tables and ate candy while writing little notes to each other. The new members of Alpha Delta Pi were in for a surprise on Saturday afternoon. They were expecting to simply meet at the Alpha Delta Pi house and then head over to their retreat at Mountain Mike’s Pizza. However, when they showed up, none of the Deltas were in sight and the house was full of baskets with the girls’ names on them. Even though it’d been raining all weekend with no end in sight, it didn’t stop the ladies of Alpha Delta Pi from packing up and heading to Lake Shasta for their annual weekend retreat. Chapter retreat is always a fun weekend filled with sisterhood and bonding. The rain didn’t put a damper on the activities that were usually held outside. Instead over 80 girls managed to all fit in the living room, a challenge which was a testament to sisterhood in itself. Every year there is one event your sorority or fraternity can all look forward to, and that’s the retreat. A chance to get away and spend a weekend or week with some of your closest friends, having fun and letting loose. Alpha Gamma Delta at Chico State recently went on a sisterhood retreat to Lake Almanor, located about an hour and a half outside of Chico.
